Hidalgo County Team Penning Association

The Hidalgo County Team Penning Association was formed in 1991.  The first team out and the first team to pen at that penning was a husband and wife team Boyd & Pat Davis along with Tilman Sharp, in a time of 1 minute and 29 seconds.  Boyd Davis was also one of the first buckle winners.  

Team Penning/Ranch Sorting events are usually held every other Friday night beginning at 8:00 P.M, unless otherwise noted.   

Team penning has become a very rapidly growing and popular sport.  We would like to invite both beginning and advanced riders of any age to come out and pen/sort with us.

We have plenty of parking space and plenty of seating for those that would like to come out and watch.  Come join us as a rider or a spectator on Friday evenings.  Check the schedule on page two for the dates.
